A Mindset of Abundance

A Mindset of Abundance

Why is it important to have a mindset of abundance? Why must we think abundance in order to have abundance? Why would we not want abundance? We as human beings are hard wired because of our reptilian brain to react to fear. Because of our amygdala in our brains, we react to negative way faster and more often than we react to positive or abundance. We are bombarded with negative news every minute of every day. Because of technology with smart phones, the news is now at our finger tips. The news is sold to us by being negative a “if it bleeds it leads” mentality. Why? Because our brains or amygdala is conditioned to pay attention to negative news for our own survival and they know it.

To have an abundance of success, money, love, free time or whatever our hearts desire we must resist the negative and focus on the positive or in this case abundance. We must develop a mindset of abundance in our own lives. Having a mindset of abundance may sound easy, but it is probably one of the more difficult things to train our brains to think about because of our abundance of negativity.

If you believe the news media, you would think we are in the worst of times. But consider this about poverty. According to a video by visionary Peter Diamondis on TED Talks, today 99% of the world has electricity, 95% have TV, 88% have a mobile phone and 70% have air conditioning. Just 100 years ago the richest people in the world had none of these modern luxuries. Even our poverty is better than ever and yet we complain about how bad things are. We are being conditioned to believe things that just are not true.

To have a mindset of abundance takes practice just like having daily reflection. We must start with quieting the mind with focused thinking, prayer or meditation, which ever you prefer. Being grateful with what you have and your status in life is the beginning to abundance. See if you are grateful for the abundance you have you will attract more abundance. If you think about the lack of things you don’t have which is scarcity, you will never achieve abundance, but more scarcity. Earl Nightingale states “You are now, and you do become, what you think about.” Therefore, if you want a life of abundance you must think abundance. If you lack abundance, it is because you think of only things you do not have, but only desire. You must train your mind as if everything you want is already yours, not that it is coming, for then you are facing the wrong way.

Begin today by changing your mindset to one of abundance and gratitude not one of lack, scarcity and want. You will see your life change for the better. Here’s to your abundance!

  • Its law of attraction.

  • Yes it is Sonal, good or bad we are all magnets.

  • I live this in life. As an insurance agent, I’ve never had problems obtaining insurance leads and selling insurance policies? The answer is simple. I’ve always expected that I would be successful. Consider the following: When I started my insurance website in 2009, I was told that there was no way to get to page 1 of google for my keywords. I refused to believe that anything is impossible. As a result, I had a website built that generates leads constantly and consistently. Living in abundance, blue ocean, or whatever you want to call it, has been been proven time and time again. As I write this message, I have a 2nd monitor open looking at new leads and renewals from my insurance website. Call me a Shaman, call me a marketing wizard, call me whatever. If one can condition themselves to live and think in abundance, the world is theirs to command. I am grateful for this and will be forever grateful of the ability to live and think abundantly on a daily basis.

    • David,
I am impressed as well with your comment! I think I would love to have you as a mentor! Who did you use to build your website, I would welcome any ideas! I have been struggling with my business for awhile now.

  • David, what an awesome story! Thank you for sharing it. I have always told my kids and tried to tell my agents when someone tells you “it” is impossible, remember “it” is impossible for them, not you. Henry Ford said it best “whether you think you can do a thing or can’t do a thing, you’re right”. You have a great attitude of abundance and I appreciate your story!

    • I love the article. I hope you don’t mind my comments. This is the core of my belief system.

      • David, again thank you for sharing your story. It is a testament to both of our beliefs. You may comment anytime my friend!

  • This is so important. So often, we make decisions out of fear. Abundance-thinking allows us to make decisions that drive us forward. Thanks for sharing.

  • Reade, thank you for your valuable feedback. I agree 100%

  • While a mindset of abundance is critical sales of cash flows to insurers is on its way out. The new use of the #Blockchain makes insurers and banks obsolete. Sales are based on individual decisions knowing where the money paid is going when an insurer gets it. The public is beginning to understand that it is paying for the privilege to give away its resources for little in return. Transparency is key. Without it there is no trust.

    • Alfred, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I was really trying to stay general with my comments of abundance, not necessarily how it applies to banking and insurance. I personally am not familiar with the concept of Blockchain, but it is really ambitious to put banks and insurance companies out of business. I do believe in the concept of transparency. We certainly need more of that in all business models. I wish you much abundance my friend!

  • learned a long time ago from Dan Kennedy, making money is not a zero sum game. if you make $1 it doesnt mean that I lose $1 or cant make that same $1. abundance. there is plenty to go around.

  • Excellently stated Colin, thank you for sharing!

  • Colin, well said. It’s the “rising tide floats all boats” concept. When you create value, you actually *create* that extra dollar, so there is more in the pot. The “pie” grows larger.

  • You have to keep on moving on..

  • I also truly love the article. I think this mindset is a true asset for daily living and inspiration.
