Top 5 Most Read Blogs of 2016

As we close out 2016, I wanted to report my top 5 most read blogs of 2016. I also wanted to surmise why I believe they were my most read blogs using Google Analytics. It has been another good growth year for Your Friend 4 Life. Blog Marketing really works with time, helpful content and persistence. I find it helpful when thinking of subjects to write about in 2017 and I hope these findings will help others with their blog writing and marketing efforts. This year had some big surprises for me.

The most read blog of 2016 was Do You Smoke an Occasional Cigar?. This blog was written in 2014 and has been my top most read blog ever since. I attribute this to Google. I stumbled upon a frequently searched word with not a lot of content as it pertains to life insurance. For three years now, I get thousands of hits on this blog. It is a testament to time, helpful content and persistence.

The second most read blog was Accumulate Wealth with The Rule of 72. This blog was also written in 2014 and was reposted this year because I was traveling and did not write a blog for the week. It was a top 5 blog in 2014 and I felt it would be good to repost it on my normal social media sharing platforms. It is not surprising at all. Everyone wants to accumulate wealth but most are just not sure how money really works. This was an easy system to write about using Albert Einstein’s philosophy and findings.

The third most read blog of 2016 was Corporate Psychology Test You Were Not Supposed to See This blog was written even earlier in 2013 and was the top blog of that year. Again while traveling and missing writing a blog for the week, I decided to repost this blog on my normal channels and it exploded again. It is a fun but accurate test that I believe people just enjoyed taking. It was read again over one thousand times and had several scores shared in the comments section. People like a fun challenge.

The fourth most read blog was 5 Problems of Social Networking. Believe it or not this number four blog was the first I wrote in 2016 with the first 3 being written in previous years. My surprise on this blog was not as much about content as it was about formatting. I used a new style, at least for me, of blocking each of the five problems into a mini blog. It was easy to identify a specific problem and not have to read the entire blog. We live in a bullet point society and I attribute this blog’s success to format.

The fifth best read blog of 2016 is Prince’s Estate is a Mess with No Will. This was also written this year. I believe the sudden death of Prince hit a lot of people very hard. But later when it was released that he had no will and what a ness his estate had become was very curious to a lot of people. I wrote it a bit about a public service to please purchase an affordable will at least. Not having a will or life insurance puts loved ones in a terrible bind.

I hope you find the explanations helpful when writing your blogs in 2017. If you don’t write blogs, now is the time to start helping your fellow business people. We all have knowledge that is useful to someone else. Please share it.
